Nestor Rodríguez Vilardell
saxophonist, composer, arranger and teacher.
With an energetic style and and powerful sound Nestor projects on stage and to his students a strong lyrical sense which also reflects his solid technique and discipline. He teaches popular Latin music, funk, blues, as well as the modern jazz repertoire, always with the idea that music is a leap to another dimension and a remedy for all the worries of everyday life.
Graduated from the Havana Conservatory "Amadeo Roldán" in the specialty: performer and teacher. He has played on major stages and festivals in Europe and America. Living in Montreal since 2014, he quickly integrated into the musical world of Cuban music and especially Latin Jazz with groups like Timba MM, Los Anormales, Alex Bellegarde, Simon Denizart Project, and Michelle Sweeney. He is the leader of his original project under the names of “Bajo Techo” and “La Huella”.
